Why should you join our team?

Great Question.

Whether you're still in training, working toward licensure, or established in your career, we want Bock Psychological Services to be a place where you can do excellent clinical work while continuing to become the clinician you want to be.

Our story

Bock Psychological Services started with a simple idea: there should be a better way to practice psychology.

A way to provide excellent clinical care without creating an environment that feels sterile, overly hierarchical, or disconnected from the people doing the work.

Our experience across community mental health, college counseling, private practice, specialized treatment settings, supervision, and training showed us both what we valued about this profession—and what we wanted to do differently.

We wanted a practice where clinicians could be trusted as professionals. Where consultation was readily available without becoming micromanagement. Where evidence-based practice mattered, but nobody was expected to become a carbon copy of the therapist down the hall. Where curiosity was more important than pretending to know everything. And where being a real person and being an excellent psychologist were never treated as mutually exclusive.

So that's what we're building.

Bock Psychological Services is growing around the belief that taking care of clinicians is part of taking care of clients. When therapists have autonomy, meaningful professional relationships, opportunities to grow, and the freedom to develop their own clinical identities, we believe they are better positioned to do the thoughtful, challenging, deeply human work this profession asks of them.

We also want to contribute to something larger than our individual caseloads. Through therapy, groups, consultation, education, and clinical supervision, we're working toward a mental health profession that is more thoughtful, culturally responsive, affirming, curious, and human.

We're not interested in becoming a giant, anonymous mental health company.

We're interested in building a group of clinicians who are excellent at what they do, genuinely enjoy the people they work alongside, and have a meaningful voice in the practice they're helping to grow.

If that sounds like the kind of place you'd like to practice, we'd love to meet you.

Our Values

Ultimately, we want Bock Psychological Services to be a place where good clinicians can do good work without having to become somebody else to do it.

  • “Josh was an outstanding clinical supervisor. His flexible, empathetic, growth-centered approach allowed me to strengthen fundamental clinical skills, while also leaving space for me to pursue therapeutic approaches that aligned with my personal style and values. Even years later, I continue to benefit from that supervision experience and find myself implementing techniques or ideas that we worked on together.”

Manny M. LPC (Former Supervisee of Dr. Bock)

  • "Josh is a warm, deeply empathic, and playful supervisor. His valuable mentorship helped me learn to lead with curiosity when I was a graduate student and new to the practice of psychotherapy. I feel so fortunate to have worked with him!"
