Why should you join our team?

Great Question.

Our story

Bock Psychological Services started with a simple idea: there should be a better way to practice psychology.

A way to provide excellent clinical care without creating an environment that feels sterile, overly hierarchical, or disconnected from the people doing the work.

Our experience across community mental health, college counseling, private practice, specialized treatment settings, supervision, and training showed us both what we valued about this profession—and what we wanted to do differently.

We wanted a practice where clinicians could be trusted as professionals. Where consultation was readily available without becoming micromanagement. Where evidence-based practice mattered, but nobody was expected to become a carbon copy of the therapist down the hall. Where curiosity was more important than pretending to know everything. And where being a real person and being an excellent psychologist were never treated as mutually exclusive.

So that's what we're building.

Bock Psychological Services is growing around the belief that taking care of clinicians is part of taking care of clients. When therapists have autonomy, meaningful professional relationships, opportunities to grow, and the freedom to develop their own clinical identities, we believe they are better positioned to do the thoughtful, challenging, deeply human work this profession asks of them.

We also want to contribute to something larger than our individual caseloads. Through therapy, groups, consultation, education, and clinical supervision, we're working toward a mental health profession that is more thoughtful, culturally responsive, affirming, curious, and human.

We're not interested in becoming a giant, anonymous mental health company.

We're interested in building a group of clinicians who are excellent at what they do, genuinely enjoy the people they work alongside, and have a meaningful voice in the practice they're helping to grow.

If that sounds like the kind of place you'd like to practice, we'd love to meet you.

Our Values

We believe the values that make for good therapy also make for a good place to work.

At Bock Psychological Services, we don't expect clinicians to leave their personalities at the door. We want thoughtful, skilled people who bring their own perspectives, interests, identities, and ways of connecting with others to their work.

We value autonomy. We hire professionals because we trust their judgment. Support, consultation, and supervision should help clinicians grow—not create unnecessary hierarchy or turn good clinical work into a checklist.

We value authenticity. You should be able to be a professional without pretending to be someone you're not. We believe there is room in excellent clinical work for humor, personality, curiosity, directness, and genuine human connection.

We value collaboration over hierarchy. None of us has everything figured out. We want a culture where asking questions is encouraged, different perspectives are welcomed, and clinicians can learn from one another regardless of title or experience.

We value individuality. Just as there is no single way to be a client, there is no single way to be a good therapist. We care about strong clinical thinking, ethical practice, and meaningful relationships with clients—not forcing every clinician into the same therapeutic style.

We value diversity. Culture, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, relationship styles, spirituality, and the many other parts of identity shape both our clients and our clinicians. We want those differences represented, respected, and openly discussed rather than shoved under the rug or homogenized.

And we value growth. Clinical development doesn't end when someone earns a degree or a license. We want to create an environment where clinicians continue learning, challenge their assumptions, develop their specialties, consult with one another, and become increasingly confident in the kind of therapist they want to be.

Ultimately, we want Bock Psychological Services to be a place where good clinicians can do good work without having to become somebody else to do it.
